What’s Going On?

The Digital Writing on the Wall

So, I’ve been buried. Between prepping the Rebis Global domain, organizing the bones of this bootstrap startup, and wrestling with code, I’ve been living in a vacuum. This morning, I decided to come up for some air, a cup of coffee, and a quick look at the news.

I immediately regretted it.

I’m sitting here on the porch, looking at the "digital writing on the wall," and it’s not just messy it’s a warning. It feels like the "tech brotherhood" we thought we knew has finally dropped the mask.

The Military-Media Merger

First, you’ve got Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth out here openly cheering for the Skydance-Paramount merger, basically saying the faster Larry Ellison’s son finishes the job, the better. Hegseth’s comments on the Ellison-CNN takeover aren't just a casual endorsement; they’re a signal.

Let’s look at the Rule of Conservation here. In this exchange, we aren't gaining efficiency; we’re giving up the boundary between the state and the screen. When a high-ranking official points at a massive media consolidation—specifically the move to put CNN and CBS under the same roof as Skydance and gives it a thumbs-up, they aren't just talking business. They are curating a network.

We used to look at other countries the ones with state-run TV and military-approved narratives and say we were above that. But when the tech elite and the military-industrial complex start finishing each other's sentences, the "unscripted consequence" is a loss of objective truth. It’s a curated reality, and it’s being done so openly it feels like a dare.

The Nvidia "Dynasty"

Then, we have the Nvidia CEO making comments about "generational companies" and the deep-rooted attachment families have to the company, essentially describing a future where families pay into the ecosystem for generations to create "proper" customers and developers. You can see the shift in tone in recent reports on Nvidia’s "generational" investment strategy.

That one stung. It’s a disgraceful way to talk about the very people who built that company. These aren't just "customers" to them; they’re trying to build a digital feudal system. They want your kids and your grandkids locked into the stack before they can even crawl.

The Diagnosis is simple: The "Lethal Trifecta" of greed, ego, and a total lack of empathy. They’ve forgotten that their hardware is just sand and circuits without the human intent behind it. They want the "Rubedo" the perfected, profitable work without acknowledging the "Nigredo," the messy, sweaty, middle-of-the-night tinkering that regular people did to make Nvidia a household name.

The Shield of the Law

It’s a shame, honestly. It’s a slander against the spirit of the tinkerer. We’re watching a shift where the tools of creation are being turned into chains of consumption. The tech brotherhood has become a gated community, and they’re checking your lineage at the door.

But here is the reality we have to face: The machine is only as good as the human intent behind it, and right now, the intent at the top is to consolidate. If we don’t demand firm ethical guidelines and civil laws that actually have teeth, we’re going to find ourselves in a world where the "common man" is just an entry in a corporate ledger.

The window is closing fast. We need protections that ensure data sovereignty, transparency in AI-driven media, and a hard stop on digital dynasties. We need laws that treat us like citizens with rights, not just "developers" in a lifelong debt cycle. If we don't advocate for a framework that keeps the power in the hands of "We the People," the "Rubedo" that perfected future will only belong to those who own the hardware.

The Call to Action:

Don’t just watch the wall. Demand the guardrails. Support the policies and the ethics that keep the digital frontier open to everyone, not just the highest bidder. If we don't fight for the laws that protect our intent, the machine will eventually overwrite it.
